Built on the books Finnish courses actually teach

Not a generic word list. Every chapter maps to the material you already study.

Suomen Mestari 1–3, chapter by chapter

The most widely used Finnish course series in Finland. Our chapters follow the same order, so the app matches whatever your class is on this week.

YKI exam vocabulary

Coverage aimed at the national language certificate — the test that decides citizenship applications and many job requirements.

Real sentences, not word lists

Every word ships with a natural example sentence and native-quality audio, so you learn the word in the shape you will actually meet it.

Spoken and written Finnish

Colloquial forms like "mä" and "jätski" sit alongside the standard forms, because that is what people actually say.

Common questions

Does Pecto follow the Suomen Mestari books?

Yes. The vocabulary is organised into chapters that follow Suomen Mestari 1, 2 and 3, so you can study alongside a course or work through it on your own.

Will this prepare me for the YKI test?

The deck is built around the vocabulary the YKI intermediate test expects. It covers the words and phrases; you should still practise speaking and writing separately.

Can I learn hands-free while driving?

Yes. Audio mode plays a personalised review stream you control with steering wheel buttons or a double or triple tap on your headphones.

Do I need to be online?

No. Download a chapter once and both the cards and the audio work offline.
